Offshore Technology Conference 2010, 3rd to 6th May, Houston USA
21 Apr 2010
Tata Steel International and Corus Tubes are joining forces again this year at the world’s largest offshore resources industry event, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The event is being held from 3-6 May at the Reliant Park in Houston, USA.
This year the exhibition stand will be Tata branded in line with the current brand migration process, which will soon be rolled out across Tubes and the rest of the Corus Group. Tata Steel International has already been through the brand transition being the first in the Group to do so.
OTC was seen as an excellent platform to showcase the brand and reinforce the Tata Steel name, our theme of, ‘intelligent steel solutions’ will continue in force. The plan this year is to once again bring the two businesses together and showcase the strong product range and service offering to the offshore and energy sectors with an eye-catching stand.
The exhibition stand features various pods in bright Tata colours, displaying a cross section of the pipeline manufactured at Hartlepool’s energy mills, as well as other exhibits. These will be supported by images showing the pipes and sections manufactured by Corus Tubes and the wider Corus group. A short video will be displayed on a plasma screen capturing the essence of Corus and Tata Steel.
Last year’s exhibition was the second largest in the OTC’s 40-year history, with many major players in the energy industry present. More than 557,000 square feet of exhibition space was filled with 2,500 exhibitors from 38 countries and attendance reached 67,721 despite the global economic recession.
It is hoped that this year’s event proves to be just as successful. Tata Steel International will be represented this year by teams from the Global Projects and Americas businesses.
